Welcome to Ma'heo'o" Reiki Level 2. As we explore this manual we will be
learning new exercises in which to bring in more energy, awakening of
the
hand chakras, activating of the crown chakra, doing a healing session,
and distant healing.
Continuing our study of breathing and awareness we will now introduce
the method of psychic breathing that when added to the chakra/nadis
awareness technique
(from manual one) will make an extremely powerful practice.
Psychic Breathing
Psychic Breathing is difficult to explain; it must be experienced. We
are so used to the feeling of the breath going in and out of the nose
and mouth, that it
may be difficult to get the hang of different; especially something that
violates our rational concept of breathing. Psychic breathing is when
we focus our
awareness at a specific point and imagine that there is an opening at
that point. We imagine that the air is actually entering and exiting the
body at that
point. Another way of illustrating this technique is as follows.
Imagine, for instance, that you have a big nose on your chest (where the
heart nadis is
located). Feel yourself breathe directly into your chest through this
imaginary nose. Now exhale out of this "nose". Feel the sensations. Your
awareness stays at the point on the sternum; you are not focusing
awareness on your nose or mouth. Breathe in, breathe out. Feel the heart
and lungs fill with
energy. Try it with another point, such as your navel. Try a slow deep
inhale and exhale keeping your awareness at your navel and imagine air
moving in one
direction, then out in the other direction. It will not take long before
you will be "breathing" in and out of specific chakras and nadis.
This is referred to as psychic breathing because you are not actually
breathing air in and out of these points. However, you are psychically
breathing prana in
and out of these points. Prana is a term that relates to life force
energy and is necessary for all life. Typically, the main way we take
prana into the body
is through the physical breathing mechanism. That is not the only way.
Psychic breathing will also move prana in and out of the body,
especially at the various
energy points (chakras, nadis, and bindu). The more this is practiced,
the more prana will move, and the more sensations there will be; as if
you were actually
breathing air in and out of a specific point directly into the body.
When this exercise is combined with the activation of the crown chakra
and bindu (in a
later chapter) then you will effectively be breathing in Reiki and be
able to transfer Reiki through out your body, and into "anything" else
you
choose to.
Chakra Breathing
Now let's combine Psychic Breathing with the Chakra/nadis Awareness
Technique. Place your awareness at the root chakra and "pull" prana
directly
into the body as you slowly inhale. As you exhale, psychically breathe
the prana out through the root chakra. Next, move up the front of the
body with each
nadis, breathing in and breathing out physically and psychically once
with each point. Notice the sensations. At first it will not be a single
point of which
you become aware, but more like an area. For example, you may feel
sensations all over your abdomen instead of just at the navel. Slowly
these sensations will
become more localized to the navel and its immediate surrounding area.
Continue the circuit to the Bindu, the 3rd eye chakra, and the throat,
then down the
chakras along the spine to the root once again. Do the circuit again and
again. You may find that you are automatically doing this technique in
conjunction
with the psychic breathing. This will take you very deeply inward and
your focus of awareness on each point will magnify greatly.
Practice Chakra Breathing every day for ten or fifteen minutes. Your
perception of the chakras, nadis and Bindu will greatly be enhanced. As
these energy
points begin being purified, you will find yourself feeling many
different emotions or having many different memories arise. This is a
natural process. Let the
memories and emotions happen. This is the natural release of emotional
holding. This exercise is very balanced for it energizes all the chakras
and nadis.
*Note* Focusing on just one chakra or nadis for extended lengths of time
is an unbalanced practice and can cause profound emotional swings.
*Practice this exercise for at least 15 minutes a day for at least a
week, until you are totally comfortable with the exercise and are able
to do it with no
problems.
Now we will begin an advanced exercise. This exercise has many uses. It
activates the hand and crown chakras. It aligns the charkas. It grounds
your energy and
it connects you with Mother Earth.
Use the following picture as a guideline for the correct placement of the charkas, in a straight line, up and down the spine.
Ma'heo'o Sacred Circuit Technique
Begin by seating yourself in a comfortable position where you will not
be distracted by anything, fabrics on chairs, scratchy carpet, pets,
ect. And close your
eyes.
Envision a sphere of Brilliant light above your head. This sphere of
brilliant light is as big as the universe, it has no end. This beautiful
sphere of
brilliant light slowly starts forming a beam of light at the bottom of
it, closest to your head. The beam of brilliant light slowly enters into
your crown
chakra. As your crown chakra opens and drinks in this divine light, you
feel a oneness with the universe; as if you had just returned home from a
long journey.
The light begins to move now, slowly, down to the 3rd eye, chakra, once
the 3rd eye chakra is enveloped with this brilliant divine light it
begins to move
again, down into the throat chakra, it continues down the chest, spreads
down into the arms and down into the hands, where it fills up and is
held there, as it
fills up in your hands you feel it envelop your heart chakra, slowly now
it moves to the solar plexus chakra, you are feeling euphoric,
experiencing the divine
light as it blends with your energy centers, slowly now the light moves
down to the sacral chakra, as it moves into the root chakra you are
experiencing a
feeling of floating on air, the sensation that you are at one with the
universe, your eyes are the stars, your feet are the deep seas, the wind
is your limbs.
Now you begin to feel an opening in your root chakra, the light beam
moves down through this opening. The light beam enters the Earth. It
goes through the
grass, the topsoil, through the layers of sand and rock, all the way
through to the core of the Earth. Here you stop to look around, what do
you see? Lava?
Crystals?? Steam? Take in the glorious site of Mother Earth and attach
an anchor (whatever feels right to you) from your light beam into the
core of Mother
Earth.
Now you feel the Earths power with you as your awareness moves back up
the light beam, through the layers of sand and rock, through the
topsoil, the grass and
back up into your root chakra. Now your new light beam with earth mother
power moves up to the sacral chakra, feel the chakra start to spin and
move into
alignment with the spine, now your beam moves up to the solar plexus
chakra, The chakra starts to spin and moves into alignment with the
spine. Next your light
beam moves up into the Heart chakra, it starts to spin and moves into
alignment with the spine. The light beam now moves up your chest and
into your shoulders,
down your arms and into your hands. Combined with the power of Mother
Earth and Great Spirit, your hand charkas are now awakened. You feel
this energy as it
forms into a sphere in the palms of your hands, the sphere sinks through
your hand allowing the light beam to pour out of your hands like a
water fall. Now the
beam moves back up into your hands, arms, shoulders and into your throat
chakra, This chakra starts to spin and moves into alignment with your
spine. Now the
light beam moves into your 3rd eye chakra, as this chakra starts to spin
and move into alignment with the spine, you may get a vision, receive a
message, ect.
Allow this to happen without moving your awareness away from the 3rd eye
chakra. Now the light beam moves back up Into the crown chakra and you
hear (see or
feel) the word Ma'heo'o as this chakra moves into alignment with the
spine and starts to spin. The light beam slowly dissolves back into the
brilliant
light sphere. You feel totally at peace and centered, knowing your have
just activated the power of Ma'heo'o within your light body. Slowly now
count
backwards from7 7.........6.....5.........4......3.................2
....1....open your eyes when you are ready.
This is a very powerful meditation. It may take you some time to
remember it all, but you must remember all of the steps before you begin
it. If you try to
read and do the meditation at the same time it will not work.
Now that you have activated the crown chakra and spinal channel, you can
effectively move Reiki in and out of your chakra/nadis system. Try the
chakra and
psychic breathing exercise now and see the differences you experience.
Now that the crown chakra and spinal channel are activated, when you go
through each
chakra, the Reiki energy moves with you.
Psychic Breathing
Now we will practice the psychic breathing techniques after you
completed the Sacred Circuit technique and take note of any differences
you may feel.
Psychic breathing is when we focus our awareness at a specific point and
imagine that there is an opening at that point. Feel yourself breathe
directly into
your chest through this imaginary nose. Now exhale out of this "nose".
Feel the sensations. Your awareness stays at the point on the sternum;
you are
not focusing awareness on your nose or mouth. Breathe in, breathe out.
Feel the heart and lungs fill with energy. Try it with another point,
such as your
navel. Try a slow deep inhale and exhale keeping your awareness at your
navel and imagine air moving in one direction, then out in the other
direction. Try
several other locations.
This is referred to as psychic breathing because you are not actually
breathing air in and out of these points. However, you are psychically
breathing reiki in
and out of these points. The more this is practiced, the more reiki will
move.
Chakra Breathing
Now let's combine chakra Breathing with the Ma'heo'o Sacred Circuit
Technique. Place your awareness at the root chakra and "pull" Reiki
directly into the body as you slowly inhale. As you exhale, psychically
breathe the Reiki out through the root chakra. Next, move up the front
of the body with
each nadis, breathing in and breathing out physically and psychically
once with each point. Notice the sensations. At first it will not be a
single point of
which you become aware, but more like an area. For example, you may feel
sensations all over your abdomen instead of just at the navel. Slowly
these sensations
will become more localized to the navel and its immediate surrounding
area. Continue the circuit to the Bindu, the 3rd eye chakra, and the
throat, then down
the chakras along the spine to the root once again. Do the circuit again
and again.
Ma'heo'o Reiki Lesson 4 - The Symbols
Ma'heo'o Reiki Symbols
Now we will study the Ma'heo'o Reiki symbols and find out their meanings.
The elements are the building blocks of life for everything that has a
physical existence. None of the elements exist in pure form (at least as
we know them),
they are connected. Example fire needs fuel (earth) to burn, air to
spread and water to put it out. These elements are within us as well.
The Earth is our
body, Air is our breath, Fire is our passion, and water is our blood.
The 5th element (spirit) is what binds all things to the spiritual realm
and gives us our
life force, without these elements neither our world nor our bodies
would survive.
Next will be the symbol meanings and what they can be used for.
Ho'esta= Translated, Ho'esta means Fire. This element of Mother Earth is
the most primal of all the elements and therefore the most used. It is
the
adrenalin that drives us. It is connected to the direction South, The
Sun, the season of summer and the root chakra. In the physical body it
is associated with
physical drive, raw emotion (anger, passion, ect), and adrenaline. It is
associated with power, strength and determination. Fire is the furnace
that warms, the
stove burner that feeds; it is also the fire that destroys homes and
rages out of control in forests. The element of fire is not for the
faint at hard. Use
this symbol to connect with the element of fire and bring harmony to the
raw emotions and the root chakra.
Vo'e= Represents the element of Air. The word Vo'e means cloud in
Cheyenne language. The element of air is associated with the season of
spring, the
direction east, the throat chakra and the 3rd eye chakra.
In the physical body air is associated with mental activity, intellect,
all forms of communication, higher mind and higher education. The
element air is the
element of thought, mind and the unseen forces we know exist but cannot
prove. Air is every breath we take in from birth until death. Air is
associated with
psychic ability. Air is the cool breeze in summer and the icy wind in
winter. Use this symbol to connect with your higher self, to guide your
thoughts, help
with communications and develop your psychic ability.
Ho'e= Translated the word means earth. The element Earth is the solid,
dependable, stable things that lay upon Mother Earth. It is the trees,
the mountains
and the desserts. Earth is the foundation of the elements. Earth is the
element used when we walk, crawl, eat, sleep, tend our plants or taste
salt. Earth is
the most physical of all the elements. Without the element earth, life
as we know it could not exist. Earth element is associated with the
direction north, the
season of fall and the solar plexus chakra.
Use this symbol to commune with Mother Earth, to connect with and bring
peace to the functions of the body. To connect with our foundation;
Planet Earth.
Mahpe= Translated means water. The element of water, as you know, is
essential to life. It we do not drink water, we will cease to exist. Our
planet consists
of 75% water. Water is the oceans, seas, and the lakes. It is the rain,
snow and the dew. Water is connected with memory, past lives and the
emotions. It is
associated with the direction west, the season of spring and the sacral
& heart charkas. It is also associated with the blood, sweat and
tears of the body.
Use the symbol mahpe to heal the emotions, recall past lives, clear
toxins from the body and heal emotional trauma.
Ma'heo'o= Translated the word Ma'heo'o means Great Spirit. Spirit is the
center and connecting point that binds together and makes all of the
elements one. Spirit is energy, life force, the eternal essence. It is
that which we seek to find in religion and spiritual studies/practices.
Spirit is the
new born baby, the moment of conception, the old and the frail. It is
peace love and eternal bliss. Spirit is associated with the crown
chakra, the bindu and
the unconscious (subconscious) mind. It is associated with the moving
circle; It has no beginning or end. Just like time, space and the planet
Earth. Use this
symbol to get in touch with your unconscious (subconscious) mind, Find
your soul purpose and commune with the divine.
Ma'heo'o Reiki Self Treatment
Now we will begin our PRACTICE of self healing treatments. Using the
techniques you have learned, become your "patient" and begin, following
the
outline below as a guide. Remember to trust and follow your intuition;
it is your best guide.
Healing Yourself
Giving yourself healing is a very important aspect of Reiki. It is
strongly recommended that you perform self healing regularly, preferable
daily for the first
month. As well as improving your health, it will balance and center your
mind / body / spirit system, thereby allowing for a dramatically
increased flow of
Reiki energy during healing sessions. Most importantly, it will
definitely increase your inner guidance, helping you to cope with
everyday situations more
successfully, as well as providing spiritual guidance when appropriate.
The accompanying pictures detail the suggested self healing routine. You
will be placing your hands in a number of different positions on the
body. Spend
around 3 to 5 minutes in each of the six hand positions, making the
complete session last around 20 to 30 minutes. It is important to follow
these guidelines
at first. Once you are familiar with the basic procedure and have gained
confidence, let your hands be guided by your intuition.
Practice, experience and patience will surely bring you to the stage
where you can trust your inner guidance. In any case, the universal
energy is always
overlooking your healing sessions, ensuring that none of your attempts
will ever go un-rewarded.
Hand Positions for Healing Yourself
Start by following your awareness through your chakra & nadis
system, when you are confident that you are aware of the Ma'heo'o Reiki
then, Start
with your head and work down through your body. In general I try to
remain approximately 3 minutes at each position (sometimes longer,
sometimes shorter)
depending on what reactions I feel.
* Note* If you already have hand placements you are comfortable with, and then use them.
Hand positions for Healing Others
The following hand placements are from the Usui reiki system as well, you can use them or whatever you prefer.
Ma'heo'o Healing Treatment (1)
Before your session begins take the time to center yourself and make sure you have a connection with Ma'heo'o Reiki.
* If you have preformed all the techniques given and have received your
attunements, you do not need to check for a connection; you Are
connected.
This connection does not go away, as long as the sacred circuit was
completed. It actively flows through you (always) and may be transferred
to anyone,
whenever you wish.* Use the symbols in their proper location in the room
to bring the room in harmony with Ma'heo'o Reiki.
Vo'e= East
Ho'e = North
Ho'esta = South
Mahpe = West
Ma'heo'o = Center
Start with the clients head and gently let the energy flow through them.
Spending about 3-5 minutes in each location (chakras). Envision now the
symbols ( in
any order) flowing in from your crown chakra , down through you and out
of your hands into your client. Go back through the hand placements,
spending about 1
minute at each location. Ideally it would be best to start and end with
the root chakra, but given it's location some are reluctant to do that.
So if you
are not comfortable with that position, then trust your intuition and
start where ever it guides you but remember you must end with the same
chakra you started
with.
Slowly cut down the flow of energy (like slowly turning off a water faucet) from your hands until it stops.
There is no need to separate yourself from your client since you have not "attached" anything to them.
Ma'heo'o Reiki Healing Treatment 2
This is a more advanced healing. You do not have to use it until you are
comfortable with it, but it is the preferred healing method of Ma'heo'o
Reiki.
It will promote a much faster healing time for you clients and they will
absorb much more of the Ma'heo'o Reiki energy.
Start as in the first method, by centering yourself and preparing the
room. You may use the same hand placements that you normally use.
Allow the energy to move through your hands and into the client.
Focus on your chakra and nadis systems- allow a beam of Ma'heo'o energy
from each chakra/nadis to flow out and into your client as you move
through
your hand placements. Spending about 1-3 minutes at each location.
When you are ready to end the session, start by pulling in your energy
beam from your chakra/nadis one at a time. When this is done, slowly
shut down the beam
from your hands as if you were turning off a water faucet.
Allow your client time to recoup their senses and make sure they can walk and think clearly before letting him/her leave.
* As before there is no need to separate from your client since you did not attach anything to him/her.*
Complete 3 Ma'heo'o Reiki treatments on 3 separate people (in person).
And answer the following questions about each treatment session.
Client gender
Time started
Time ended
What feelings did you get?
Which Ma'heo'o treatment did you use? Method one or two?
Did you feel the connection to Ma'heo'o Reiki?
What was the response of your client?
Do you have any questions?
